Kto by wpadł na taki absurdalny pomysł?! Na pewno nie poważny, szanowany uczony, prawda…? Źle! Takiej sesji w IATEFL PL chyba jeszcze nie było – a to dlatego, że głównym bohaterem tej historii był nauczyciel angielskiego, jak nikt inny w pamięci. Jego biografia czyta się jak gotowy scenariusz do hollywoodzkiego blockbustera, a podczas tego webinaru poznacie niektóre bardziej skandaliczne odcinki. Ale tak naprawdę, ta historia jest dosłownie większa niż jego życie. To jak żył i co osiągnął dzięki swojej nieustępliwej pasji, mimo przeciwności losu i przeciwników, jest żywym dowodem na to, że w naszym wyjątkowym zawodzie jako pedagogów warto spróbować znaleźć projekt lub pomysł, choć mały, który da nam codzienność działania głębszy sens i sese celu, a które być może pozostawią ślad, który będzie trwał dłużej niż my sami. W tym sensie jego historia jest niesamowitą lekcją tego, czym jest być prawdziwym przywódcą myśli w edukacji i jak taki prawdziwy przywódca jak on może zapalić płomień twórczego szaleństwa u swoich uczących się.

Summary:
Is there any point in writing from Poland to a British heir to the throne, without even knowing his correct address? And in trying to get the Prince to help build a Shakespearean theater in a Polish city? Who would come up with such a ludicrous idea?! Certainly not a serious, respected scholar, right…? Wrong! Arguably, there has never been a session like this at IATEFL PL – and that’s because the main protagonist of this story was an English teacher like no other in living memory. His biography reads like a ready-made script for a Hollywood blockbuster and you’ll get to know some of the more outrageous episodes during this webinar. But actually, this tale is literally larger than his life. How he lived and what he has achieved thanks to his unyielding passion, in spite of all adversities and nay-sayers, is living proof that – in our unique profession as educators – it is worth trying to find a project or an idea, however small, which will give our daily activities a deeper meaning and a sese of purpose, and which will perhaps leave a trace that will last longer than ourselves. In this sense, his story is an incredible lesson in what it is to be a true thought leader in education, and how a true leader like him can ignite the flame of creative madness in his or her learners.
